Dear Doris,
We are just through dinner & the sun since morning is clouded in. & looks a little like snow. our cold snap changed to a warmer spell & yesterday was a lovely day but it grew cold after sunset. About three O'clock who should walk in but Alice, Charles wife. she has got another job & in a couple of days, she is to go & take care of an old lady who lives in Newton Centre & is looking forward to a much pleasanter time. just this woman & herself in the house to do for. She was greatly surprised to learn of Charley Frenches death as they were out there Armistice day & he was up around the house attending to his heater the same as usual they it seemed were not notified, any more than other relations. My cold is all in my head, no fever, I will get rid of it some time this week my head is for stopping up & its a regular bacterial cold. I am careful about going out so Pa lugs home all the groceries
