Dear Doris

The day is warm & pleasant. south wind but slippery going I was out Friday most of the day & in some way took cold so was sneezing all day yesterday & feel lifeless today. the ground is cold & changing off from my warm home shoes to leather ones & rubbers was the way I guess I got it. but after today I am sure it will disapiar from my head & then will be all right Pa got rid of his & it didnt last him more than a couple of days. he took two thirds of a bottle of Dr Rodericks caugh bolsom made of wild cherry & guess its good stuff. it seemed to do the trick for him in a few hours, he was hoarse & hawking & spitting all day till he went down to the store [[crossed out]] Sund [[/crossed out]] Thursday night & got a bottle, (he had it to sell for this man,) & after that night his cold went. it would be fine stuff to have in your house, there must be honey in it, very pleasant to take. one could never have much chest trouble if they took it in time. I am afraid our snow may stay on the ground all winter, terribly icy & its bad to get from our house onto pleasant St. I was down to see Anna & Mort the day I was downtown, they treated me to cider & fudge, I drank the cider, & brought the other home to Pa. Charley Frenches funeral was Friday, he was brought here to be buried in the family lot. Jimmie told us about it. he took Gerard in their car, no one else in this town were able to go. of Marys folks, Jimmie said she was thin and looked as though it had told on her (his sickness). Lots of talk is being made ore Marys
