go past their house & think of their not being there or owning it. Gerard has the lower part & they are fixing the up stairs to let I hear. Well I suppose that big wedding comes off to night. it seems funny he so young & just through colledge [[college]], but the rich aunt may help out, they are not any of them of the fretting kind & they may take all the more comfort & perhaps get along just as well. I was wondering if you had to feed the baby so much with a spoon or if she drank & fed her self more. as you spoke of her greediness in eating. glad she is taking to food more its easier. It is real winter up here with snow & ice children are coasting down the streets nights on their sleds & they put saw horses accross [[across]] the foot of Prospect St so not to run into autos. it has been cloudy althoug [[although]] not so very cold to day. we wonder whats coming next. snow or rain. I have got my coal all sifted & ashes put on the side walk. It does seem so good to have longer days, here its half past four though cloudy, not dark, enough to need a light. Now Lena is gone I dont [[don't]] have to worry about my fires when they are low, I feel much better when the room is not so hot, but she is such a cold mortal. her blood is poor. she should go South winters where the climate is warm. & Bernice also. their cousin Elizabeth, aunt Cora's girl, is married & done pretty well they hear, she got a normal school course & was well liked as a teacher, but hadnt [[hadn't]] taught but a very little while. Mrs Andrews told Lena over the telephone. I hope you dont [[don't]] get sick working so hard. Mrs Cutting must be a God send to you all. thank her for me as it makes me feel easier about you. we feel that you are cared for & in good hands at last. Ma.
