Just as I had braided my hair ready to go up stairs, for I had told Pa at 8 o'clock I was going to bed early. Who should drive up but Ralph and Maude they had been to the church supper (turkey super [[supper]]) and came to see Pa about the bank affairs that he was worried about. they were talking bank and we were jabbing about the wedding. they want them to come Saturday, so they can visit with Ralph & Henry can be there to practice, for he is to be the best man at the wedding. in the church trimmed up in great shape for the occasion. The bride is to be dressed in pearl velvet made very plain, with a vail [[veil]]. the mother in brown velvet, the rich aunt in garnet lace, she makes her home with them, sister to the girls [[girl's]] mother. her husband died & left her with lots of cash & she is fond of little Ralph Maude is to be dressed in green velvet. not too showy
