the hunting season but I notice they are not all just the same. Last Sunday morning [[Carrahea?]] come up to ask Pa if he would let him gather some mushrooms he saw in our back yard, & Pa told him yes he could, he was busy a long time & got half a bushel he said they had to be prepared for cooking & it would take two hours & then cooked in oil. I would really like to know how they tasted. Our new neighbors do not make any trouble, a dead limb blew down & landed in our driveway Sunday nigh [[night]] during the gale, & Pa told them he would clean it up for them if they wanted him to, he was glad it did'nt [[didn't]] fall on the little pine & she said so was she for they wanted to look out to see it. I guess they are good. they are riding most of the time.

I have been contented to stay in since I got back from my tramp I was around Float medows [[meadows]] in back of Ferrins [[Ferrins']] old place over in back of Tolmans [[Tolman's]] was gone 2 hours and found a good bunch of Pine for the wreath for Cemetry [[Cemetery]]. There is not much water in Swamps as yet but it was rather damp in the Bushes and a cold mist all the time I was out, most of the Leaves have blown away around the house the new House has changed the situation some am waiting to see the result when the heavy snow comes and how it will change the drifts

Carrachea or Carrahca - but may be "Carraca" or "Carraco? Looks like the "h" is scribbled out. Can't find anyone by those names exactly where they are (on 1930 Census), but there are people by those last names on the internet.
