Dear Doris
This is a sunless morning I have been puttering around gathering the stray bits of things together, & straightening things out generally. I have just put on some onions to boil for dinner to go with my dinner of beef & sweet potatoes. I made two squash pies yesterday which eat pretty good. I suppose Mrs Cutting keeps you folks stuffed up pretty good, too bad she cant go ahead + eat also. but suppose she knows best, some people would be fat no matter what they do. To enjoy ones food is half there is in life for me, but overeating is bad for any body, if kept up, it leads to heart & kidney ailments, which soon become serious. We hear occasionally from Amos & also that when he tries to walk, it brings on a severe heart spell, then he finds he is not good for much, so gets discouraged. I am sure they will find him dead some day like Uncle Albert who dropped in his tracks, the last journey he took away from home.
