Dear Doris

Our raging storm is over after pounding the N England coast, like it did five years ago, & it was about just such a storm you remember, when you came home in the vessel from across the ocean, we are glad to see the sun once more, it was so cold too, with our first snow storm flying in the NW gale, a terrible day & night. I thought of you folks & wondered if it extended as far south as Washington, but guess not. Before I forget it we heard throu Ruby, that Mr Dix died very suddenly yesterday morning, they must have been reconciled to his death as he had been ailing so long. Carlton lives in Connecticut has a wife & two children. Well I called up Sue's & Myrtie answered the phone, she says Alice Talbot is better & has a nurse come from Arlington to stay while she takes a vacation which she feels very much in need of & is going up to Mildreds to day they are to come after her. Eleanor is not working
