Dear Doris
A decided change in temperature after a down pour Saturday morning about 2 o'clock, a heavy frost last night, it took the dahlias. but I was lucky to have gotten in all the house plants as I was expecting it so took the last in out of my boxes after dark Pa is pounding & making a terrible racket over something down cellar. it sounds like the coal bin. the workman over to the new house when they got throu & were burning up their rubbish. gave us all their boards & boxes & saw horses, after I saw what they intended to do I went out & asked for it, which they gave to us willingly so we are so much in & it would have taken an age to burn. The family moved in last night, they are just home from early church, Pa & I cleaned up the flower beds beside their lawn as well as we could Columbus day. Our grapes still hang out but they will go tonight if it grows colder to day its pretty windy now the trees still hold their gay plumage
