Stoughton June 25th 1930

Dear Doris

This bids fair to be a hot day. not much air stirring. Last night Lena came out she has just gone over to investigate the cherry tree. she took over a step ladder the cherries are good & ripe & Lena is in her elements. she has been home once to empty her dishes. Pa has just been home to dinner but did not see her over there. I mean to let her carry most of them home. all I want is one cherry pie. we love them. I wish you could be here too & Lena says keep some down cellar for Doris. but they would mold, its too damp. I could put up a jar for you though. The men are getting ready to clear the lot & dig the cellar. they are to have a steam shovel which means a two days job if they can make it work, but Pa says he doubts if it can be done in that way, on account of the big boulders, which they know nothing about. [[Teriack]] came over to look at the lot after Pratt had surveyed it last night. & he said
