their auto & took him up, but he is coming home to day. Myrtie is still at Alice Talbots. I wonder how she likes her. they keep it so hot I could not stand it & its not well for them. Pa went over to Rings last night & they gave him some peonies they called pond lilly peonies the center looked like pond lillies. our white ones have been out for a week they have looked great, but the rain beat them down and spoilt them at last, the mother robin is trailing her babies through the yard, feeding them every day. I am scart [scared]] for fear of cats, they are good at flying & she is on the lookout. the little cat birds are all hatched out. George says there are four of them. Sunday he said there was a cracked egg in the nest, but it hatched out, they are tameer [[tamer]] than the robin, but Pa says he dont see what they will feed them, as there are no berries ripe. the are not much for grubs & worms. they eat aunts [[ants]] & there are a plenty of them. I throw out crumbs to all the birds even the little robins pick them up, well I must mail the letter now. it looks like more rain. here is the check.
