Stoughton June 8th 1930 Dear Doris We all are of the same mind in its being a pretty good morning. we have been having a gentle and continuous rain since about five o'clock last night & hope it continues through the day. every where the ground has been very dry & the rain coming as it has so steady & quiet will do a lot for the gardens, our squashes Pa has planted over three times & a few I see are just making their appearance, so I guess the seed was all right, three weeks ago they were first planted. I have got about every thing in the ground now in the shape of flowers. & after it clears I mean to put in another box of tomatoes which will make three boxes in all which ought to go us for the summer, another year I hope to have better luck with the seed & use my own judgement on the regular soil I always have to start them in, it was too rich this time.
