The first rain for weeks a cold NE storm
Stoughton May 14th 1930

Dear Doris-
I have got your letter to day sorry you were feeling so mean, but hope you keep the woman if possible. it seems but a short time longer + then you will all come home again yesterday was very hot here but at night there was a complete change + tonight it is really cold, so that a fire in the kitchen stove is just what we need. I have got all the plants put out ready to set in the ground, next I shall set out the seedlings which will be something of a job. but I have been waiting for a rain as the ground is so dry.
