Well I started in cleaning house yesterday & cleaned the north chamber. took up the straw matting, & had every thing out airing all the fore noon, & went thorough. I was tired, but I got everything put to rights & feel fine this morning, ready for some more stunts. Pa was glad you called on Helen Gage, funny she is travelling down there at her time of life, nothing else to do & wants a change. I wonder how Molly, (Herberts wife) is, but I guess she didnt say. I pity her poor thing, she has had a hard life.

I have got to go down town to day, after some groceries, but I am going to have fish chowder for our dinner. I am puzzeled [[puzzled]] to know what to cook, as apples are about gone. Well I hope we hear from Lena this week  Ma
