Dear Doris

This is a cool morning, it feels like fall, a fire is comfortable. I have been putting up berries. Ace Sylvester left about two qts of beautiful blue swamp berries he got them up in the swamp in our old neighborhood & they are very large so I put them up & some more I picked. I have got enough for both of us to last for years. we dont cook any now, for we are sick of them, as we have had so many. Pa is listening in for his morning news. the thermometer registers 58° quite a change in temperature Pa says he is cold & he is running to the water closet, so I guess its the sudden change in tem, it makes his belly ache. I tell him a good clearing out will do him good.
