Stoughton July 25th 1931

Dear Doris

I am starting my letter early but you may not get it untill Monday. I shall go down early to suite Pa & pay three water bills it is regular dog day weather here & berries are very plenty I go out & pick a pint twice a day. great recreation. Pa is interested in poking a woodchuck, down back of McGarveys garage in our compost heap beside an old stump. no matter what it is, if takes his mind off himself a while. My Zinneas are blossoming gardens this year are doing well just enough showers to make them look thrifty & blossom I have not seen Ralphs folks for a week tomorrow. Mrs Ballentine told Gertrude, her daughter, that the neighbors would talk about her being after Conlon the widower
