Dear Doris
We are having some very muggy weather. Last night a thunder shower & heavy rain so this morning it is humid. I feel lifeless. Pa has just shaved himself without much difficulty, he is at present listening to the news flashes. La Blanc, Elizabeth's husband, was in an accident two months ago, he then went to work, but had to give up & the Dr ordered him to go away on a vacation. I wrote to Lena yesterday as she is good to write me long letters in return. Pa wants me to say that his head is worse this morning than its ever been & he say he is failing fast & I don't know how he does feel. his throat bothers, hawking & spitting a great deal. his cramp is a thing of the past not any sign of it since he has been this way, isn't it funny?
