I hope it clears off soon for all our sakes. he wants me to go down town in the pouring rain, but I have no idea of going, as there is nothing to go for but what can waite.

Ralph & Maude came last night & brought us some clams they had been down to Nantasket getting their cottage ready for the folks who are to occupy it. this is all for now hope the next time to write a more cheerful letter.

He has just been in & read the letter & says this is more to the point than any I have written yet. he is ugly as he can be & thinks he is the only one to be pitied he is out of conseit with every body like Jack. Ma
