Wednesday morning
[June 1931]

Dear Doris,

We are having a pouring rain ever since yesterday noon it has rained without a single let up & it bids fair to continue throuout [[throughout]] the day. it is a cold day to day. we need a good fire to warm up the house. the cellar is full of water so its impossible to get at the soft coal. Lena wrote to the Morgan Memorial to come & clear the house of all our old coats & clothes that we had laying around loose. so they showed up yesterday afternoon. three of them, in a big heavy truck. they carried away my old sewing machine & I guess a coat Pa wanted to save, at any rate he could not find it to put on this morning so you see we went pretty thorough. Jim we expt is coming around with our groceries this morning Pa has begun to time
