Stoughton June 18th 1931 

Dear Doris.

The storm cleared away yesterday & the afternoon was pleasant Mike sent up one of his workmen to put the plug in one of our radios & Pa turned on the station & heard  Hovers [[Hoover's]] speech at the Dedication of Lincoln memorial celebration event & it came in loud & clear. we thoughly enjoyed listening in to it Pa turns in to hear the news four or five times every day. Talbot came up this afternoon & he managed to keep putting well entertained. Everything looks fresh after the rain. in a weeks time our grass is most ready to mow again our little robins are bathing in the mud puddle beside the road. Pa is making his plan to go down town he gets nervous thinking about it I wish he could ride me away. he comes home pretty contended usually but I worry
