after dinner Pa did not come home to his dinner but got it in Jims as he sometimes does for want of time & to rest up before starting on the afternoon work. I have just been out to the garden & find there are seven jonquils come up & blossomed first before growing leaves they were planted three or four weeks ago. those Pa planted & the ones I planted last were planted deepest & are just pricking through the dirt.
