the dump, as there was lots of the roots carted with it time will tell. She spoke of her daughter being out of work all winter & business being so slack. they try to be cordial, or the mother does. the girls are very nice if you get to know them perhaps. Eugene Toomey was brought home in the ambulence [[ambulance]] Monday. they have done all they can for him. & he was called comfortable the next day. Sunday night Pa said the frogs were peeping & there are robins & bluebirds but I havent seen or heard them yet, but presume I may later. Pa uncovered the bulbs betwn [[between]] the two houses & we find they are coming. they werent killed by tramping over, or the fire from the old steam shovel. I find some new poppies coming up out there side of the pine tree. where I planted the seed last year & thought the drouth [[drought]] had killed them, they are the oriental poppy & the old ones are also up in the other bed. I have just planted tomatoes, snap dragon, &  scabiosis seeds in boxes in the house, they are on the wood box back of the kitchen stove, untill they come up & then I will put them in the sun up in the sewing room, or back chamber  I mean to have something to mother. I have just made an apple pie for Pa's dinner & am boiling some onions to go with his corned beef. & for supper oysters I got of Jack yesterday. he was on the cart yesterday for a change so you can see he feels better. The Malcome boy thats in the Stoughton Trust, approached Pa for some land to build a house on yesterday he is going with Joe Capens daughter. he wanted the lot between the Garveys & then the corner there by Bruces but Pa said no. its a wonder some one dont snatch up this one in front of the Standpipe. dont think of my showing up down there this spring its Pa busiest time every thing is started
