many questions that I dread it & its just as well to clear out & say nothing as to go through such nerve racking scenes. the same old questions, the ammount [[amount]] of it is he tries to raise objections to my going & then if I order things & the man brings them. hell is to pay after he is gone. the very worst part of him shows up now. I don't suppose he can help it. its [it's]] much better to go from this world sudden. then pleasant memories of our departure follow.

I hope the baby is eating & sleeping better & that you are not roasting there in your own grease. yesterday was a quiet day here I saw no one all day to speak with. it was a more comfortable day than to day. Peas are .60 a peck I prefer canned ones they are cheaper & as good I shall have them the 4th & can salmon its pretty greasy, but I think much better flavor.

I have not seen Ella since last winter guess she must be with some of her folks. although she hasnt [[hasn't]] as many people as she had once. We miss Amos he was always kind & every one loved him, they filled the house at his funeral. for all he was just a plain man & belonged to no organizations he was loved & respected by every one who knew him. its a pity that children were denied him. he was fond of them. Ella might be happier now with some we cant [[can't]] always tell. though
Ma
