Dear Doris

It has cleared off the sun comes out fitfully + it is warm again, but good air. It seems some like a shower. The grass over at the old place is being cut. Mike came about noon he seems poor + wants work. but I have not anything after the grass is cut. he is like a good many others these days old + poor. perhaps Ralph will give him something to do they seem very fond of him.
Pa about had a fit over your letter, it stirred him up so neither of us had our nap to day. he came down with it in his hand + said an awful letter.
I did not get to sleep untill after eleven + Pa was uneasy before light so I feel sleepy this afternoon + guess I shall turn in early tonight. there seems to be nothing doing evenings in this neighborhood the Ballentines go to church or to the movies + its a long time afterwards that there is nothing for one to do but read or go to bed + then I dont get to sleep
