This is a gloomy day I have just written a letter to Lena. Bernice must feel pretty disappointed over Mrs Andrew's will. after catering to her all these years. but Theodore her husband, always warned her over placing too much store on Mrs. Andrews leaving her money. I guess both Lena & Bernice are pretty much disappointed & well they might be.

I know I was making the nighties bigger than the old one but they will be big enough for her another year she is growing so fast. & as you say they will be cooler.

Pa is very quiet all the afternoon I dont hear a sound up over head. you cant get any talk out of him that is any ways agreeable. he dont see anything but "gloom" so there is no one to talk to from morning till night. I have my books to read & in that way I manage to exist. in my chair I can sit out side & read when it clears off & that is better than to hear him tramp over head as he does most of the day. but there is one good thing about it. he sleeps well nights & most always has a nap after dinner. this seems like a May storm. it is raining now & it has grown lighter. but it is cold too sudden a change bad yesterday we were sweating & today we shiver. the time is going fast now its time to get my supper Ma
