George Whiling came to see him last night but did not stay long. I could see Pa was getting nervous + uneasy. Lee saw it to. so said "well Arthur I wont bother you any longer". he is a sensible one to have on the visiting list.
Yesterday I got Pete McGarrey to carry your letter down to the office for me. he seems to like me to call on him for things like that + to know I have forgotten the old grudge against him. I blame the old woman more than I do the children. its a wonder she hadnt made theives of the whole bunch + she is scooting around the neighborhood bad as ever.
After I got home this morning I made a rhubarb pie + gave some to Mrs Ballentine so she could make one too. she likes it crazy for some + I give it to her every time. she always tells how she likes it fresh. I am picking worms off the grape vines for recreation I told Doris McGarrey to do her grape vine so. I saw her out this morning before she went to work pipking them off. I have not got any letter today yet but guess its just delayed. probably two tomorrow will be here. I wrote to Lena this morning after I got home from downtown the wind is out in the NW today. nice + cool hope you are having decently cool days down there also but am afraid you are not. guess I must get my supper started my clam chowder lasted three days it tasted fine each day my cellar keeps things cool Ma.
