Dear Doris

The days glide by & its the last day of the month. we are having cool weather yet the clouds are drifting over head & we almost think its going to rain & then the sun shines out.

Afire in the range seems essential as its cooler inside than outside.

Ralph & Maude came last night to know if I wanted to go up to the cemetery. it was after severn then, but I said no. so they went themselves without me. they had been with the Sopers riding around & looking at rock mounds. they both filled their cars with stones. Ralph wants to make one & Soper is an authority on them they said. After they got back they brought me over some clams they got down to the beach Sunday. they were the little small blue clams I like the best. so today I made a good chowder & saved enough steamed for supper all I will have to do will be to heat them up a bit. Pa seemed to take a liking to them & he drank some of the water.

I went down town & brought home another doz of stone tomatoes as Sky Grant fixed the bed for some more
