Dear Doris

This is a warm sunny day I have just got down stairs after trying to have a nap but Pa was restless + it was hot in the front chamber so I came down + felt worse than I did before I went up I do hope a shower will come we need one the worse way with such a blazing sun.
Our robins nest was torn down last night + the little ones gone. its a darn shame. If I knew what cat did the trick I would certainly commit murder, if I had to chase her into her own door, she has certainly learned the trick, no more nests are going to be built there for her benefit. I will tear them down before they do.
My lawn mower came home last night. he has fixed it up so that is in better shape than its been for some time + runs very easy. it was wicked before he fixed the gears + sharpened it he said it was a very good machine + told me where to oil it + see that it was oiled often so it would'nt wear the gears the same as it did before. Smith came up to mow but it had not come back + besides it did not to be mowed
