Stoughton May 23rd 1932 Dear Doris Still cool + sunny. I have just been out digging dandelions + I think it is the last mess as they are getting a bit tough. we had greens & baked potato for dinner & baked indian [[Indian]] pudding. Pa eats no meat I dont [[don't]] know when we have had any. just fish once a week which lasts us three days as I turn it into a chowder. It seems nice to have off the out side [[outside]] windows. I have washed them inside & now I can see better whats [[what's]] going on. the man came to day [[today]] & got the lawnmower he means to fix it up. the gears are out of order & misses a cut now & then. Pa made a fuss when it was sent off, but I did the best I knew how, it would not go well so what else could one do. he has been highly recomended [[recommended]] & as cheap as one can expect. they tell me. I think it is going to be a grape year the vines look that way, every day I go out & pick the worms off. I see the cat birds are here. they sing beautifully, they dont [[don't]] seem to be afraid when we go out in the yard, but follow one around for company or to be fed.
