Stoughton  May 10th 1932

Dear Doris

we are having the cool wind from the N East still. I have been quite busy all the week farming, our grass is growing green & in places needs mowing. I spoke to George Smith asking him about his brother if he would be ready to mow our grass this summer & he said I guess so.    They are only too glad to get jobs & take it. Our leaves on the forest trees are coming fast.  I expect Bruces check now any day  I have plenty of cash on hand. Drake always pays his bill on the 1st & Bruce the middle of every two months. I hope Sidney has got over his day of stuffing safely & lucky it only comes once a year.

Theres [[there's]] four teachers had to be operated on, one after the other in town, for apendecitus [[appendicitis]] all women, now they have got a man teacher. seems catching dont [[don't]] you think.

I have just got my tubs up from down cellar that Sidney lugged down before he went away. they will be very pretty this summer, mostly fairy lillies, & my aggipanthus [[Agapanthus]] is quite green, hope this year it will bloom. I like this cool wind but am afraid it will be hot the last of the week. Pete McGarvey seems very social when ever I meet him. he runs up to
