Stoughton May 9th 1932 Dear Doris The sun is clouded on this afternoon & the wind is from the North West. I have been picking up all the old junk I can find on the premises & setting it out beside the road for the clean up team to lug off to the dump & Pa is finding plenty to talk about. over accross [[across]] the way they have got the remains of Stan Lorings [[Loring's]] old Auto put out to be carted off. I had to laugh when I looked out & saw it there. I have also been putting some richer soil into all my flower beds. ashes & leaf mould. yesterday while all the neighbors were riding off, I went out in the back yard & sawed down those peach trees in the garden & the chestnut that was growing in the old stump shading the garden. & to day I have chopped them up at the block for fire wood. I dont [[don't]] want every thing to look as if we were too feeble to do any thing & every thing neglected around the premeses [[premises]]. My row of narcissus I transplanted two years ago from under the bushes, are this year just as full of buds as they can be. those came from Mary Janes [[Jane's]] down to Bagged Rows. by the way I havent [[haven't]] seen Ella since [[top margin]] PS I paid .15 for a box of strawberries Saturday but I dont [[don't]] care for them they dont [[don't]] agree with me. we dont [[don't]] have meat. cooking eggs I use we never eat them any for breakfast. 23 cents a doz. things are cheap to what they were, Ma [[/top margin]]
Transcription Notes:
Not sure about "Rowe" and "Olla" in the last line.
* My guess: "Rows" & "Ella"
