Dykeman said the old place had stood well all these years, the outside was in firm condition. he said a nail was lose [[loose]] on the clapboards here & there but he would drive them down as he came to them. he said it was all of twenty years ago he painted it & then only one coat of paint. now one coat would only just prepare it for painting. he said it seemed a pleasant place & if we wanted to sell he thought there would be a plenty who would like to buy. he had heard people say they would like it. but I said no Arthur never would consent to sell his home place. These old places would cost like time to modernize. the location is good & the house is sightly, but poorly arranged, with the hall on the sunny side & front room on the cold side. Pa dont want any more money paid on the share in the CO operative bank, but have it taken out. I dont know, he makes a fuss every time I pay the five dollars. would you draw it out? it would be a long time before it would mature. perhaps it would be well to do as Pa says its a bother to have to go down every month & keep it paid up. my ice chest is all right I don't care for another. those snap dragons are very pretty Maud gets the plants. the stocks you sent I may find a place for.
