& Harold is drinking he had his license taken away, so they are unable to go any where. I think she has had more than her share of trouble poor woman. nothing to live for.

I have been out pulling out chick weed from the jonquills [[jonquils]] they are coming on fine. my red bud has got 12 blossoms started on the main stock, funny how they come on the main stock.

Pa when ever he comes down stairs acts as though he was lost & does not stay long. I ordered 1 bag of flour of the Brocton publick [[public]] market & when he brought it, I thought Pa would have a fit. he was crazy & had to go over that same old gag. he seems to be money mad so poor all the live long time.

I will manage to see Louis Dykeman & talk with him. I think he is working. this must be their busy time but he is at home nights any how. I can manage to see him & Pa wont know I am gone. I stay out doors so much working around the grounds. he would have forty fits if he knew about the painting he is very excitable & objects to any such project. I will now finish this terrible letter & go to bed for I am tired of sitting here all by my lonesome.

Pa has just been down to say that he had been looking over his books & found where Babb died in 1911 & Mary must have died not long after.
