up there. as its too far. Roy is pleased with his farm but his ankle he broke is a handicap to his working as he would like to. they all seem to think a great deal of Gladys up to Roys [[Roy's]] & like to have her come up there vacations.

Alice seems to like staying at Matties [[Mattie's]] better than Lillians [[Lillian's]] where they are so churchy, can you imagine Charlie asking a blessing at the table. Alice says they have rung him into that. all her boys have wives that rule them, with a rod of iron. so Alice says & for that reason it would be no home for her.

I guess Gladys will never marry. she may. Roy always was sweet on her, but Ida he is waiting for I always thought.

The Ballentines [[Ballentine's]] have been gone all the afternoon I dont see where they go so much.

you would feel lonesome without your dog & cat & so would they baby. Peter McGarvey was ploughing up his soil for his garden, they had an old white house doing the work & Georges puppies set up a barking as soon as he saw the old white house. he barked for two whole hours without stopping. the let up was a relief now & dont forget it

well this letter is long drawn out & guess you think so but theres [[there's]] nothing to write about these days
