We had our first herrins for supper tonight they were good & plump & tasted pretty good wish you could have been to eaten thereof

I had a letter from Alice today she is trying to stick to her place untill there is something better in view I guess they are pretty funny people according to what she writes about them & no wonder she is out of conceit with them.

I am anxious to have Ralph and Maude see the little ones picture the will like it I know. I heard the frogs last night peeping down in the brook, as I came accross from Pleasant Street. they were tooning up in great shape. I have got to go down after a loaf of bread before they close up for the night I get a stale loaf cheaper. Ma
