Dear Doris
This afternoon the sun came out + it is very nice I have been raking out in the yard + filling dirt aroun my bulbs out under the trees where I separated them last spring the soil there is poor + the brick building shades them.
The robins are very plenty, early this morning they had a fearful fight. I was afraid one would kill the other, he pecked him till the poor little thing could not stir, but lay there + took it so I went out + separated them, there were a whole colony of robins looking on enjoying the fight. I never in my life witnessed such a sight.
I would rather they would build away from the house. I dont enjoy worrying about them after they hatch. I got the letter this morning telling of your arrival home safe, you must feel tired after your strenuous riding + I hope you rest up + not pitch into work, take life easier if you can.
I have been out in the little building + it sums warm. I was thinking of putting my tomatoes out three at the window. Jim said he thought it would be warm enough. he thought they looked thrifty, they have the leaf on them
