It seems that Hattie Packard (uncle Nathan Tuckers daughter) has lived with them all winter. I saw her there this morning when I returned the book & Mystie told who she was. she lost all her money & the city gives her the pension thats supporting her. two sons & the youngest one used up her money. I asked Mystie why she did not apply for one & she said they did not give them up in Vermont & had'nt even got a poor house. she says she can make her own living. give her a chance. I saw old Fred Stickney on the St. this morning he looked like an old tramp & you would know at one glance that he'd lost his mind he will get run over. little Freddie has got a terrible cold so Kate said. Lottie screams & is a great care. I guess they are up against it all around. the world is full of such cases. well too bad we are not in it beside of them Ma
