I have not seen Ralph or Maude for two weeks now. Pa hates to have me leave the house, so I stay right here & see no one day in & day out, the same old story. This afternoon I got out the last of the nut meat & prepared it for cooking. Pa tried to eat the english walnuts, but found without teeth, he could not so gave it up as a bad job. Time hangs heavy on his hands so he eats. nothing else to do. he hates to see any one & don't want met to have company either. every dog has his day. my tomoatoes are coming up good over twenty & still coming. Lena spoke of my clearing the windows upstairs. my geraniums are beginning to blossom up there now. They are full of buds & blossoms. I take lots of pleasure carefully tending for plants & they show it. Lena has other hobbies. Ma. ((horizontally on the right of the page))
