they do. trouble comes to us all sooner or later. & some have it through life. there are not many who care to live their life over again. the trouble with me, I have lived too long. my children are all gone & scattered & Pa & I are two miserable old wrecks that no body seems to want, waiting for what? Some one to bear us O'er. I guess

Another dark cloud is coming up in the west which means colder weather, as I was going down town yesterday Estell Churchill hollered to me & talked about the Griffin family. she said that Effie had a bunch on her side, she called it a growth. she says that she wont go to have it examined by the doctor. Mrs Griffin never said any thing about it she told who told her but I dont remember. Mystic came while I was gone I found a slip tucked under the door. Pa was staying up stairs & never heard her nock [[knock]] but it was just as well perhaps. I have seen another new dog over in George McGarveys dog kennel he does love dogs. the creature was crying early, so he must be homesick. hope he wont die like the other little hound did. Pa stays up stairs most of the time he feels warmer & when he gets tired, he lies down on the bed. I have an old bed quilt spread over the bed that will wash easily. & he has that old plaid cape to spread over him when he feels cold. I think its a good idea he can be comfortable & quiet by himself & no one sees him. the sun is just going down behind the western horizon which means the end of another March day. I have just been to supper & done the dishes. Pa is still up stairs, so I am alone & can do as I please, which is something, as time goes on he is much quieter & easier to get along with Ma
