I have not found out just what it is. teaching and substituting does'nt agree with her it seems. she needs a home but is not in a way to afford it.

I wish Mrs Andrews would do something for Lena and not as much for Bernice, she does not need it as much as Lena does.

Pa is quiet these days he is awaiting his doom, isn't it pitiful? scart out of his wits all the live long time. theres nothing anyone can do to reason him out of it either. the worst kind of disease immaginable. well of course there will be an end to it sometime.

I have just been getting my kindlings up ready for my fire in the morning. Pa is eating his muffin & drinking warm jinger teaa preparitory, to going to bed. hope he sleeps, he had a good nights rest last night & so did I thanks be. now I will end here & go to the upper story with my warm stone. Ma

PS Wednesday This morning its going to be pleasant. Ralphs fire started from the electric iron in the kitchen burnt up the ironing board & went up through the floor into the second story & his next door neighbor happened to see the blaze, or the whole house would have burnedup it did considerable damage, but the dining room & the others were only smoked up Ma
