CAPE HENRY LIGHTHOUSE
The famous Old Cape Henry Lighthouse at the entrance of Chesapeake Bay was erected in 1690 and was used about 200 years until the new Light House nearby was built in the latter part of the Nineteenth Century.

We have a fine little place in a roomy house called the Lighthouse Tavern, right here,- I should think this picture was taken from the front piazza. We have been along the beautiest dunes all day and are going to start back early tomorrow morning, passing along the edge of the [[Dismal?]] Swamp. It has been so cool all day that we have worn our coats.
