Dear Doris
I went down town this forenoon & sent off the box with Lina's box & dress & now if you get it in time I shall be glad. Coming home I went into Alice's for some books to read & she gave me a big cabbage to bring home. She said Frank [[?]] gave her a lot & she was the only one who eat them & I might have one when ever I was down there & felt like lugging them home.
This afternoon it has clouded in & looks like more snow. I have just burn out to the line & taken my clothes in stiff as pokers, they are thawing out over the kitchen stove. Pa is taking one, he just shut off the thermostat & is trying to settle down once more. I have just had a card from Lina, she is going out to Jimmies I think before Xmas. I have been making a little nighty for Bettie out of the cloth that was left from Sid's. Some things to keep me busy through the lonesome dull weather. I am baking a pudding, indian pudding & it has been in since early morning. it's done maybe it will taste good
