Stoughton Dec 12th 1932

Dear Doris

I have just finished the nighties + the day is still stormy everything is covered with ice, it freezes as it comes to cold + chilly accordingly.
I have managed to get the heat going + the room is most up to 70 but it was hard work, Pa is [[seart?]] keep me till he gets me to shut it off, this is out first snow + guess it will be winter now. last week was summerish quite a change in program.
I found out why you letter was held you only put on a two cent stamp. a mistake but I got them both this morning + was glad you were all right.
Tell Mrs [[?]] if she could see the trees + snow [[two?]] [[?]] covering the ground + feel the chilly atmosphere of Massachusetts now, it ^ would make her appreciate the warmer climate where she is down in Virginia. this certainly is a day to make one feel gloomy if they once were. real Xmas weather boys were on the [[?]] coasting all day + Auto's blowing their horns to keep them from being in their right of way.
