Stoughton Nov 24th1932

Dear Doris, 
This has turned out a pleasant day after all the [[?]] was cloudy but since one o'clock the sun has come out & its nice & comfortable. I am sitting here in the sunshine writing the letter. Pa is rattling around some where in the pantry. Lima sent him some more stuffed  dates. I guess they are stuffed with cooked prunes something sickish those others were candy on the inside they came by the same parcel post that your persimmons did. they got here all right& not too mushy. they were good. I gave most all the others to Alice & her aunt Hattie. they have helped me a lot in a good many ways. [[indent]] Our cold wave was of short duration. Tuesday morning the thermometer went down to 10[[degrees]] above 0. but it warmed up before noon. I hustled everything in from the back room that night. for I saw it was coming, the afternoon before when I went after the keys to shut the windows I was pretty cold. but Ralph said "bring them back' but I am not through with them yet. I left him my key. if he took a little more in trust I should feel
