Dear Doris
This is a pleasant day after a terrible rainy night. I felt that it was so warm + nice that I must enjoy the out of doors while it was so pleasant so I was out in the back yard this forenoon. but since noon the wind has changed + it has blown up cooler + probably by night we may have a different atmosphere all together.
The box of persimmons got here this noon is pretty good shape + tasted very natural. even Pa sampled those but was afraid of being choked with the seeds I think. they are a little riskey where one does not have a big throat like mine, two to three might slip down my throat and they would not frighten me much. Does the baby eat them or don't she like them?
I went out to split up some kindlings + Mrs. Ballentine come outside asked me if I ever saw any one prowling around after dark she said every time she sits things out on her back steps, some one steals it, milk or meat, I don't sit up nights; she says it seems as thought it was some she knew I went to bed early she said.
