Dear Doris
The storm still continues + the wind blows from North East, I have been down to vote + when I came home Lena was here with Pa.  I dont know but I ought to have kept her here it was such a storm-but she is too much for both of us we are so quiet here + dont say much + then she requires so warm a house.  this house would freeze her up.  no I cant have her here now.

Doris the Ballentines came over here + nocked on my door this morning to tell me that Nellie Toomey was dead.  she was taken down with a bad cold + her heart gave out + she died yester day suddenly after vomiting a lot of flem.

I dont know how Eugene + Dennis are going to get along without her.  she has worn herself out for them certainly.  I dont know of anything that has taken hold of me as this has, its the last thing I had thought of + still I could see she had
