Dear Doris

The day is going by with very much the looks of rain, its chilly & now & then a sprinkle of rain. I have been burning leaves, getting rid of rubbish & Pa was not on to what I was up to as he was eating his dinner when the fire was blazing its brightest & his mind off his troubles.
Mrs Ballentine was surprised, but laughed when I told her how I managed the thing. Frank Monk came in the midst of it & told me there was no danger burn it up he said & get rid of the rubbish & I did,
I have been busy all day, in side & out getting things cleaned up. Mrs Ballentine told me there was an accident down to the corner Sunday morning just after she had got home from church. a car was coming down Prospect St and another coming on Walnut St they clashed & threw two girls out & cut them up badly, smashed these car all to smitherense. Mrs Gilges started with her bandages & helped to stop the blood untill
