Dear Doris

Today its pleasant but windy. a pretty good day to dry my clothes. now since dinner it is hazing up a little. I went down town after envelopes + stamps + coming home I saw the house across from Alices she said pointers were still work - ing on it as it had been a bad week the rain kept them from painting. she has been sick + is looking tired. she calls it grippy. she gave me a cloth bag to carry my books in. Its just the thing. Percy is night watchman down to the rubber factory.
I have not seen any of Ralphs folks since you were here, in fact I see nobody. he does not want me to leave the house or no one to come to see me. it makes him suspicious. you don't know how good it seemed to go down the street yesterday + see houses. I could not see enough.+ the air smelled so fresh.
Lina wrote me a letter she writes every week she asked me what I was doing if I had anything begun + I told her my fancy work was seeing to everything.
