Stoughton October 27th 1982

Dear Doris

I suppose its making up for the day summer the only good thing about it is its warm. it has poured all night + so far all day.

I have got all my plants taken up for the winter + if I get sick of having them up. I will carry a few down cellar.

Mrs Gilger wants some but she believes in taking them up when the moon is just born. isnt she funny. she is Human + frisk, but a very good hearted woman. she gave away her money to her people while she was at home. they were very poor I should judge from her till. so that all she had left when she got home was. 17 her uncle has had a shock, he thinks some one is after him, so he carries around a shot gun for protection. she has a sister out west there + she bought her a new coat.

After it clears we are looking for cooler weather its a very rainy time. + pretty lonesome but I have a good
