Dear Doris

I thought it cleared off once but this after noon it clouded up worse than ever & is raining again queer kind of weather I think don't know what to make of the weather now a days.

I am busy doing up grapes this afternoon after deciding something should be done towards preserving them. I took the easiest way & cooked a kettle full & put them thoug [[through]] the jellie [[jelly]] bag & the juice I put on to boil without sugar. Mrs. Gilger says they keep better & if you lose them. you dont lose the sugar. I put them in my beer bottles & dipped them in parafin [[paraffin]]. they are warranted to keep indefinately so.

I am going to write to Lena to night as she is in trouble over her living troubles with that Miss Garland I wish she would clear out & leave Lena in charge but no danger. it seems a good family otherwise.

Pa has gone up stairs disgusted because I am working trying to finish the grapes he wants to go to bed at six every night.
