Dear Doris

It has been warm & sunless. a storm of some kind is coming & then cooler weather after it. I have tried to enjoy this warm spell by being out of doors all I can but Talbot came+ stayed a long time + when he went off it was supper time. I told him to go down past the Black house + see if it looked better since it was painted & he did go that way.

I wish you has taken home more grapes. I only gave away a few, there is more left than I need. it will be hard work to get rid of the, I am afraid. I made a few tumblers of jelly they keep a long time + we both eat them.

The leaves are turning fast + the yard is covered with them. since the frost, in a couple of more weeks the trees will look fine, I wish this warm weather might last but its going to be colder tomorrow the paper says. I had a long letter from Lena to day.
